Participation in the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2025
As a project partner within the IFIRE consortium, the Institute of Microwave and Photonic Engineering at Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) participated in the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2025, held in Vienna from 27 April to 2 May 2025. The poster presentation took place on 28 April 2025 at the Austria Center Vienna.
During the event, the IFIRE project was introduced to the international scientific community and interested members of the public through a poster entitled “Advanced Diagnostic and Forecast System of Icing Conditions for UAV Operational Safety.” The poster provided an overview of the project’s objectives and methodologies, explaining the development of the Icing Forecast Model and outlining the path towards the Austrian Icing Map, which represents the project’s main outcome. (See attached poster for details.)
The main goal of the participation was to raise international awareness of the IFIRE project and to foster exchange with the research community. The presentation attracted considerable interest from experts in meteorology, aviation safety, and UAV operations, demonstrating the relevance of the project’s approach to improving operational safety under icing conditions.
Through this engagement, the IFIRE consortium strengthened its visibility and established valuable new connections within the geoscientific research network of the EGU.
